Whoever wins the elections must find where to ‘control’ spending

Sky News main presenter Kieran Gilbert says whoever wins the federal election on May 21 needs to start looking at where to “control spending”.

“When you have an inflationary environment, you don’t need government spending to heat it up, we need to cool it down as best we can,” he said.

“Monetary policy is doing it through the RBA, now we need fiscal policy through the government to do something similar.”
