Where will it snow more from Friday to Saturday?

DENVER (KDVR) — A late-spring snowstorm heads into the end of the week, and the Front Range will get most of the snow. Weather conditions are optimal for double-digit accumulations west of the foothills.

For late spring snow, temperatures above 7,000 feet need to be below freezing, and there needs to be cooler temperatures in the upper atmosphere and an upwind to provide enough moisture.

Each of those categories will arrive this Friday through Saturday with snow arriving along the Front Range very early Friday morning. The snow may linger into Saturday night and that can lead to double-digit totals in that area. Some mountaintops may see close to or more than a foot of snow on Saturday night.
