Looking for a 70-year-old man who has been missing for two days in regional Victory.

Christos was last seen on Big Muster Drive, Dinner Plain, northeast of Melbourne, at around 2:45 p.m. on Friday.

It is understood that he went out for a walk to see emus reported to be in the area, but has not been seen since.

“By 6pm that night he hadn’t returned so his wife contacted us and she was worried something might have happened,” Inspector Paul Hargreaves said.

“He doesn’t know much about the area, but having said that he had just walked on a local track, it’s called the Mountain Track, that’s where we think he went.”

“What we understand is that Christos is quite fit for his age, walks approximately 45 minutes every day with his dog, is a mobile person and is in good health.

“We are thinking that he may have encountered some misfortune or something has happened to him, maybe he got disoriented, we don’t know.”

Emergency services have been searching for Christos for the past two days.

Hargreaves said a witness told SES late Friday that they saw a man matching his description.

“They saw an elderly man who met the description or fit the description of Christos and we are quite anxious to hear from that person,” he said.

“They provided some brief details to an SES finder who was away at the time, we believe the witness is more likely to stay in Dinner Plain and we are knocking on some doors at the moment.”

Christos was last seen wearing a long-sleeved top, long-sleeved sweater, pants, and crocs.

“From what we know at the time, he was wearing a pair of white jeans and shoes and a dark or black sweater, he is bald and weighs about 140 pounds,” Hargreaves said.

Officers are concerned for Christos as temperatures are currently low and it is very windy.

“We know we have a limited window and the conditions up there can be quite dangerous,” Hargreaves said.

Anyone with information on Christos’ whereabouts is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
