North Queensland Cowboys winger Murray Taulagi pulled off a miraculous mid-air pass to send Suncorp Stadium into a frenzy.

Murray Taulagi, take a bow.

The North Queensland winger pulled off a miraculous mid-air pass during Sunday night’s Magic Round clash with the Wests Tigers to send Suncorp Stadium into a frenzy.

In the eighth minute of round 10, the Cowboys spread the ball to Taulagi, who ran to the corner flag for the team’s first down.

But Tigers running back Jackson Hastings hugged the 23-year-old and put him in touch, or so he thought.

Taulagi somehow managed to unload the Steeden back into play despite being suspended in the air beyond the dead ball line.

Cowboys fullback Scott Drinkwater caught the ball and completed what has been touted as an early contender for try of the year.

“That’s brilliant, that’s absolutely unbelievable from Taulagi,” former New South Wales representative Michael Ennis told Fox League.

“That’s millimeters, millimeters from the ground to Drinkwater.”

Tigers great Benji Marshall continued: “I’ve never seen anything like this…he’s going down without seeing his player.

“That’s phenomenal.”

Fox League commentator Andrew Voss dubbed it the “pass of the year”.

“That’s outrageous,” he exclaimed.

“The magic trick of round 10. Murray Taulagi, we salute you.

“That’s unbelievable. That’s really wonderful rugby league, if it doesn’t challenge normal rugby league.

“You can’t practice that… absolutely extraordinary.”

Taulagi’s night only got better, with the New Zealander leaping in the 18th minute to secure North Queensland’s second try of the night.

The Cowboys had a 20-12 lead when the players retired to the sheds for the halftime break.
