JULIAN, Calif. — An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 3.6 struck near Julian on Monday afternoon, according to the US Geological Survey.
The quake was reported at 2:35 pm, 14 miles east of Julian. The earthquake had a depth of 7 miles.
Three minutes later, an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 2.6 was recorded in the same place. That quake was a quarter-mile deep, the USGS said.
