Kevin Rudd ‘reached a new low’ after launching personal attacks on reporter

Sky News digital editor Jack Houghton says former Prime Minister Kevin Rudd has “hit a new low” after launching personal attacks on a journalist in Melbourne.

“You may know Kevin as the failed Prime Minister who lost the support of his own party due to his aggressive and authoritarian management style; little has changed today,” he said.

Houghton said Rudd, who has a history of “comparing journalists to cancer”, had an interaction with Sky News reporter Simon Love, who asked the former prime minister some questions.

Rudd was asked about Labor candidate Dr Michelle Ananda-Rajah, who previously said she didn’t like AstraZeneca’s vaccine and even said it had failed.

Rudd accused Love of “finding any piece of dirt on a Labor candidate” to discredit him.
