Kamloops Blazers push Vancouver Giants to brink with 4-2 win

LANGLEY, BC – Logan Stankoven broke a 2-2 tie with less than three minutes left in regulation to help the Kamloops Blazers beat the Vancouver Giants 4-2 and take a 3-1 lead in their series of WHL second round playoffs.

Stankoven scored at 17:23 of the third period on the power play to give the Blazers the win. He also added an empty net at 19:52 to ensure there was no Vancouver comeback.

Giants goalie Jesper Vikman made 39 saves in the loss.

Vancouver tied the game 2-2 when Zack Ostapchuk got his second goal of the night at 6:21 of the last frame.

Luke Toporowski and Caedan Bankier scored the other two goals for the Blazers.

Game 5 between these two teams will kick off on Friday as the Blazers look to finish the job at home in Kamloops.
