Jamie Lynn Spears Responds to Britney Spears Claims Over Book – The Hollywood Reporter

Jamie Lynn Spears hit back at claims by sister Britney Spears that she was talking about her older sister in a recent interview to sell copies of her book, the latest in an increasingly heated and heated public feud between siblings.

The tit-for-tat present began on Wednesday when Jamie Lynn sat down for an interview with ABC News’ Juju Chang on Hello america to promote his future memories, Things i should have said. Jamie Lynn was pressured by the passages she wrote about her older sister, in particular, describing an incident in which a frightened Britney picked up a knife and locked herself with Jamie Lynn in a room. She also wrote about another incident in which she claims Spears “cursed me” and her 12 year old daughter attempted to “mediate the situation”.

Britney Spears posted a Twitter thread on Thursday in which she took issue with some of Jamie Lynn’s claims during the interview and said her sister’s comments about her behavior bothered her. “The 2 things that bothered me and my sister said was how out of control my behavior was. She was never near me 15 years ago around this time… so why are they talking about it even if she doesn’t want to sell a book at my expense ??? REALLY ??? “Spears wrote.

Spears added of her sister: “She never had to work for anything, everything was always given to her.”

Then, Thursday night, Jamie Lynn took to Instagram to post a long, passionate statement reacting to Britney’s previous Twitter feed. Young Spears wished her sister luck, but accused her of saying one thing in private and another on social media. “The things being said are absolutely not the truth,” wrote Jamie Lynn, further claiming that his “family continues to receive death threats, due to [Britney Spears’] vague and accusatory messages.

Jamie Lynn hinted that there was a lot more going on behind the scenes and that she “might have to set the record straight myself in order to protect mine and the well-being of my family.” .

She ended the post by writing, “It’s time to end the unhealthy chaos that has controlled my life for so long.”

The Spears family broke up after Britney Spears’ controversial tutelage ended last November. During the case, which caught the attention of the world press, the singer and her lawyers accused her father, James, her family and her management team of abuse.

It’s hard to see these messages because I know the world is feeling it too. I just wish him good luck. Brit I’m always there for you, you know backstage I’ve always been there. It becomes exhausting when the conversations and texts we have in private don’t match what you post on social media. I know you’re going through a lot and I never want to diminish that, but neither can I diminish myself.

Quite frankly, the things that are said are absolutely not the truth, and I need to clarify this, because now it is more and more difficult for me to justify to my eldest daughter why our family continues to receive death threats, because of the vague words and accusatory messages, especially when you know she could tell the truth, and end it in a second if she wanted to.

Sadly, after a lifetime of remaining silent, I realized that this would not be a reality, and I may have to set the record straight myself in order to protect the mind and well-being of my family.

That being said, I hate to pop my sister’s bubble, but my book isn’t about her. I can’t help but say that I was also born Spears and some of my experiences involve my sister. I worked hard even before I was a teenager, and I built my career despite being just someone’s little sister.

There’s no side, and I don’t want drama, but I’m speaking my truth to heal my trauma, so I can close this chapter and move on, and I wish my sister could do same. No matter what, I will always love my big sister and be there for her. It’s time to end the unhealthy chaos that has controlled my life for so long.
