Fox Pushes “Priority” Drama To Fall Due To Covid-19 – Deadline

Monarch, the family-dynasty country music series starring Susan Sarandon, Trace Adkins, Anna Friel and Beth Ditto, has become the latest victim of Covid-19.

Fox has pushed the series’ launch from January to fall, citing the growing spread of the virus. The series was scheduled to air on Sunday, January 30.

The network called the series, which is its first wholly-owned drama, “top priority,” but was forced to relocate due to the pandemic’s impact on production.

Fox is hoping that by moving the show to the fall of its 2022/23 season, it will benefit from the production of the entire first season and more time to market the drama.

It is one of the most important scalps in the growing spread of the Omicron variant. A number of broadcasts from NCIS at Chicago fire and late night shows such as The Late Late Show with James Corden and Late night with Seth Meyers – have interrupted production, but Monarch shifting its first nine months is a blow to the network.

The network is currently looking for what will replace Monarch in the schedule on Sunday January 30 then Tuesdays at 9 p.m. for mid-season in the future.

Monarch will continue to shoot in Atlanta until spring.

This is the latest setback in the series, which Deadline has revealed to have been forced to bring in a new showrunner in the form of old ones. Designated survivor showrunner Jon Feldman replaces Michael Rauch.
