The VERY embarrassing moment, Courteney Cox and David Arquette, are asked about their collaboration on the new Scream movie: “Yeah … that’s awesome”
David Arquette gave an awkward response when asked to work alongside his ex-wife Courteney Cox in the new Scream movie.
The couple appeared on The Project on Channel 10 on Tuesday alongside film frontman Neve Campbell, with host Hamish Macdonald asking the exes how it felt to reprise their roles as Dewey Riley and reporter Gale Weathers after their split in 2010.
“Courteney, David, these movies are so self-referential, it’s pretty amazing to see you together on screen and talk about a past relationship,” Hamish said.
Annoying! Project host Hamish Macdonald was visibly uncomfortable on Tuesday, after David Arquette gave an awkward answer to his question about working with ex-wife Courteney Cox on the new Scream movie
“Do you have the impression that you also appreciate this self-referential aspect of it all?” “
Courteney, 57, politely responded, “It’s really fun acting together, when we’ve done it before. I mean obviously with Scream, now it’s our fifth time, but we’ve also played before. . It’s really fun.’
But it was David’s response that resulted in a pretty awkward moment on the air, as he replied, “Yeah, that’s great…”
Hamish was visibly uncomfortable with the answer, resulting in a second of silence as he continued, “Um… now if you guys in real life…”

But the frosty reception quickly thawed, as David, 50, Courteney and Neve all burst out laughing as they realized how the answer was ringing.
“Sorry,” Courteney laughed, while Hamish joked, “That sounded very sincere! “
After a hysterical laugh, David added: “This is really good!” while Courteney explained: “There is a lag, so when you said it …”
“It looked like no one believed you!” Neve, 48, laughed, to which the Friends actress said, “I didn’t believe it!”
“Will you try it one more time and have us believe?” Hamish laughed, and David ended up saying, “This is the best!”
