Golden Globes 2022: The full list of award winners

The Power of the Dog was one of the big winners of the evening.

Netflix

You may have noticed the lack of fanfare around the Golden globes This year. The 2022 ceremony was on Sunday, January 9 at 6 p.m. PT, but you couldn’t watch it on TV or live. The show, once the fun drunk celebrity awards show – once the show that produced an evergreen reel of celebrity roasts for five-time host Ricky Gervais – has returned to the drawing board.

Questions about lack of diversity, voting processes and finances seen the awards, organized by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, boycotted by celebrities. This year’s ceremony, which took place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, has been turned into a private event.

In the film categories, the big winner was Benedict Cumberbatch with The Power of the Dog, a western that won three awards: Best Picture (Drama), Best Director for Jane Campion and Best Supporting Actor for Kodi Smit-McPhee. Steven Spielberg’s musical West Side Story also had a good night, winning Best Picture (Musical or Comedy), Best Actress in a Motion Picture (musical or comedy) for Rachel Zegler, and Best Actress in a supporting role in a film for Ariana DeBose.
