Global Village, the leading multi-cultural family destination for culture, shopping and entertainment in the UAE and the wider region, concluded Season 26 on May 7, 2022, welcoming a record 7.8 million guests to the heart of wonders since its opening on October 26, 2021.
Global Village has become a premier destination for exceptional entertainment and multicultural offerings that raise the bar for regional and global guest experiences. As the UAE became one of the most sought after destinations with millions of tourists arriving to visit Expo 2020 Dubai, the action-packed season of the Global Village brought together an exciting lineup of shows, festivals, events and live concerts. . Due to popular demand, the park extended Season 26, allowing visitors to enjoy the Eid Al Fitr festivities for the first time in its history. The Global Village, the longest season in history, was open for 194 days, four days longer than its previous record.

The improvements we made and our focus on the guest experience led to more than 90% of guests stating their intent to visit again this season. We also continue to progress our digital transformation plans using advanced data analytics, AI and IoT technologies behind the scenes to better understand our guests, strengthen our infrastructure and improve efficiency.”
In line with Global Village’s commitment to cashless payment, more than 94% of points of sale accepted card payments this season. Guests appreciated the added convenience with contactless payments which saw a 300% increase during Season 26. The park aims to reach 100% of outlets offering cashless payments in the upcoming Season 27.
Global Village also saw a whopping 700% increase in online ticket sales, with its easy-to-use mobile app and website providing a superior guest experience. The award-winning mobile app offers a new personal, mobile and easy-to-use experience, driving an increase in downloads this season, with a 149% increase in users and a 237% increase in app downloads compared to to season 25. The park introduced new features to its easy-to-use mobile app to help visitors skip the lines, enjoy exclusive offers and get the most out of their visit.
Global Village has also launched a fully digitized end-to-end portal for its travel business partners, allowing them to seamlessly customize Global Village packages for their customers. With the increase in tourists to Dubai and the opening of air travel, the entertainment destination witnessed an increase of over 595% in travel business sales compared to season 25 and 200% over season previous.
Wide offer for all audiences
Global Village guests arrived at the heart of wonderland for a memorable trip around the world with glimpses of a wide variety of cultures.
Guests could let their taste buds travel the world at more than 200 food and beverage outlets and a new railway market modeled after Thailand’s world-famous “Umbrella Market,” with 14 train cars housing over from 30 sellers from Asia and around the world. Dragon Lake was the stunning new backdrop for the ever-popular Floating Market dominated by a 20 meter long fire-breathing dragon.
Globetrotting adventures continued in all 26 pavilions, including a new Iraq pavilion, allowing guests to discover more than 80 cultures. Product offerings at the 3,500 outlets reached 80% authenticity levels and cultural shows added to the “retail entertainment” experience.
More than 400 artists from around the world performed on the stages of the Global Village, which presented more than 40,000 performances during the season. The new members of the family, The Wonderers, took the stage for the first time. Waleef, Zoya, Ozka and Aiyah all starred in their own show, Legend of the Staff. The Kids Theater rocked with character shows and the main stage was home to more than 10 new Global Village productions. The park also hosted the internationally renowned shows Burn the Floor, Swing Latino and AAINJA.
The Global Village Concert series returned for season 26 with a diverse lineup of spectacular live concerts from international artists such as AssalaNasri, Tamer Hosni, Saad Lamjarred and Britain’s Anne Marie.
The region’s first on-water stunt show, Harbor Force, wowed the crowd with a 75-foot (23-m) diving tower, jet ski fire jump, dual flyboard action stunts and LED cars that broke records. Thrill-seekers also enjoyed more than 170 electrifying rides, games and attractions at the Carnival, which also got a new look this season.
Ripley’s Believe It or Not!® introduced 100 new exhibits and a Chamber of Horror in the Odditorium. The 4D Moving Theatre, starring the Monster family, had everyone sitting on the edge of their seats, while the Marvelous Mirror Maze featured over 100 mirrors, LED lighting and digital sound enhanced with immersive water and Augmented Reality features.
A season of celebrations
The popular family attraction welcomed thousands of guests over National Day weekend as the United Arab Emirates celebrated its Golden Jubilee. The festivities continued into December with celebration props, holiday shopping and gifts from around the world. New Year’s Eve celebrations continued past midnight with musical fireworks and cultural performances aligned with the start of 2022 in eight different destinations around the world. In February, the park welcomed the Chinese New Year with wishes of health, luck and prosperity for the Year of the Tiger. Festivals held at the Global Village this season also included the now renamed “Kids Fest” and the new “Happiness Street Fest”. The best artists from five continents performed at the Global Village for its first street performance festival.
Season 26 has been extended to bring the best Ramadan traditions to the Global Village with Majlis of the World, offering a unique experience with a vibrant atmosphere for gatherings with family and friends.
