Final 22under22 team, best young players, year-end awards, full squad, ins and outs

Premier League favorites Brisbane Lions once again dominate the AFL Players Association’s AFLW 22Under22 team, which airs on Tuesday.

The Lions, aiming to win their second premiership in three seasons on Sunday, had four of the league’s best players in their final squad: Natalie Grider, Jessie Wardlaw, Courtney Hodder and Tahlia Hickey.

It is the third time in four seasons that the Lions have had the most representation in the fan-voted finals.

Seven players were selected for the first time – Abbie McKay, Katie Lynch, Lucy McEvoy, Alex Ballard, Jasmine Fleming, Madison Newman and Tarni Evans.

Eligible players must have played 50 percent of the season’s games and be 22 or younger throughout the season.

Madison Prespakis and Monique Conti set the record for the fourth time with Conti being selected on more than 91 percent of the teams.

Geelong was the next best side in terms of player representation with three players: Annabel Johnson, Georgie Prespakis and Nina Morrison.
