FIFA World Cup 2022: Richarlison leads Brazil to 2-0 win over Serbia; scores a stunning goal | XtraTime

Xtra Time Web Desk: Richarlison scored twice, the second with a bicycle kick, as Brazil beat Serbia 2-0 in Group G of the 2022 FIFA World Cup at the Lusail Iconic Stadium on Thursday. The striker of “Tottenham” scored in the 63′ and 74′ minutes, respectively.

The five-time champions struggled to break the deadlock in the first half due to some tight defending by the Serbians. Five-time champion Brazil scored the first goal in the 63rd minute. Vinicius Junior shot from low on goal. Serbian keeper Milinkovic goes down to stop him but can only lift the ball for Richarlison to slot in.

In the 74th minute, Richarlison scored again. After receiving the ball inside the Serbian box where two defenders had marked him, he lifted the ball over his head with his first touch, spun and then put Brazil 2-0 up with a beautiful bicycle kick. This will surely be an early contender for goal of the tournament.

Richarlison became the eighth Brazilian to score a double on his World Cup debut and the first since Neymar in 2014. Since making his international debut in September 2018, Richarlison has scored more goals for Brazil in all competitions than any other player (19).

Brazil could have scored at least two more goals as Alex Sandro (60′) and Casemiro (81′) struck the post.

Brazil lead Group G by two goals ahead of Switzerland, who beat Cameroon 1-0 today.

Brazil next face Switzerland on Monday.
