Zurich, May 19 / WAM / The FIFA Referees Committee today announced the lists of referees selected to officiate the matches of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
The FIFA Referees Committee selected three referees from the United Arab Emirates, Muhammad Abdullah Hassan on the list of in-stadium referees, and Muhammad Al Hammadi and Hassan Al-Mahri on the list of “flag-carrying” assistant referees.
The 2022 World Cup will take place from November 21 to December 18, with the participation of 32 teams.
36 referees, 69 assistant referees and 24 video referees were selected in cooperation with the six continental federations in light of the level of these referees and their performance in previous FIFA tournaments and other international and local competitions in recent years.
