ABU DHABI, May 9 / WAM / The activities of the International Conference of the World Council of Muslim Communities, held under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, coinciding with the fourth anniversary of the foundation of the World Council of Muslim Communities, with the participation of more than 500 political, religious, intellectual and social leaders of Muslim countries and societies.

The conference featured more than 30 dialogue sessions and a keynote address by heads of state, ministers, muftis, university rectors, deans of faculties, professors, and researchers, who discussed in depth and objectivity the theme “Islamic Unity: Concept, Opportunities , Challenges”, which is considered the most important issue that has occupied the Muslim mind since the beginning of the 20th century.

The conference discussed more than 110 research papers to get to the core of the reality of Islamic unity in its constructive historical image and in its future images that will advance Muslim societies, contribute to their development and development, eradicate poverty in them, to advance education and scientific research, as well as to tackle the challenges that Muslim societies face, be it extremism and violence, or intolerance, partisanship and sectarianism.

The conference concluded by emphasizing a set of recommendations: First: The attendees emphasized their thanks, appreciation and gratitude to the United Arab Emirates and its inspiring leadership, which is always concerned about thinking ahead and willing to support Muslim communities, ensure Her future. , achieve stability and prosperity in their countries, and work without rest or boredom to revive and consolidate authentic Islamic values ​​that achieve peace, security and stability in societies, and consolidate the values ​​of tolerance, coexistence and cooperation between human beings.

Second: to emphasize that Islamic unity was a historical and civilized fact; It included various fields of economic, intellectual, social, cultural and educational life, since this fact was present in architecture, arts and letters, but it was not a political-administrative reality. The confusion between civilization and politics led to dispersion, to confusion. and conflict over the concept of Islamic unity in the modern era… transformed groups The movements that have emerged in recent decades have transformed the concept of Islamic unity into a political project that aspires to build personal or partisan glory.

Third: Emphasizing the privacy of any Muslim society, and that the challenges it faces are as many as its countries and regions, as well as with the multiple levels of development and challenges that its countries experience, therefore, the conference emphasizes the need to respect those particularities and always work within the constitutional and legal frameworks of the national state, in a way that preserves its stability and security, while at the same time achieving mutual benefit among the countries and societies in which Muslims live.

Fourth: Emphasize the need to include in public and religious education curricula the true meanings of Islamic unity in a way that opens horizons for future generations to deal with everything that benefits Muslims, achieves the advancement of their societies, face challenges that affect your progress. and prosperity, raises their standard of living and places them in the position of “the best nation that has arisen for the people”.

Fifth: emphasize the need to reform and develop religious discourse in all Muslim societies; In proportion to the needs and requirements of each society, so that religious discourse, whether in mosques, or in educational and educational circles, is appropriate to the cultural level of the society with which it relates, and is capable of responding to questions, problems and concepts. that constitute the collective conscience of Muslims.

Sixth: Emphasize the importance of employing all kinds of means, new and traditional, to reshape the collective consciousness of Muslims in various societies; And in multiple languages, to have a true understanding and awareness of the major issues that should shape the Muslim mind in the 21st century, in order to achieve the interests of those societies and the aspirations and dreams of their members for a safe and Happy life.
