Sony will reduce the price of its premium anime subscription service Crunchyroll in nearly 100 countries and territories starting today, including the UK, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Sweden, South Korea, Turkey, India, and Brazil.
For example, in the UK it will drop from £7.99 to £5.99 per month, while in India it will drop from $9.99 to Rs99 (around $1.24). Despite the drop, the service will offer a larger anime library than before in those territories. The full list of countries that noted price reductions is available on Crunchyroll.com.
Unfortunately, the price drop does not reach other key markets, including the United States, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Mexico, Germany or France.
Crunchyroll bills itself as the world’s largest anime streaming service with over 30,000 episodes following its merger earlier this year with rival service Funimation, all owned by Sony.
