After days of pressure, Kathy Barnette releases a DD-214

Pennsylvania Senate candidate Kathy Barnette on Saturday released a DD-214 showing the initial months of her active duty military service, amid scrutiny of her earlier statements that she served 10 years in the Armed Forces.

Barnette posted the DD-214 on Twitter, after nearly a week of questions from reporters trying to sift through her record and asking for that specific document, raising questions about whether the emerging candidate was ready for the general election in November.

The DD-214 shows the first few months of his military career in 1990, which would be Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training for his Military Occupational Specialty (MOS), which at the time was an Administrative Specialist.

Retired Army Colonel Kurt Schlicter, who backs Barnette’s opponent David McCormick, told Breitbart News after seeing the DD-214 Barnette released: “There’s nothing that strikes me as unusual about this.”

Barnette released its NGB-22 last week, which is the equivalent of a DD-214, but for Army National Guard soldiers.

NGB-22 showed she joined the Army in 1990, and three years later she joined the Alabama Army National Guard, serving from 1993 to 1998. Another document she posted showed she was honorably discharged from the Reserves. Army in 2000, after a total of 10 years of service.

The Army also first confirmed to Breitbart News that Barnette had served in the Army National Guard from 1993 to 1998, and in the Army Reserve from 1998 to 2000. The Army said any additional records would have to be obtained from the Administration of National Archive records since she had left the Army more than 15 years ago.

More questions were raised, however, even after Barnette launched his NGB-22, when he confirmed in some interviews that he had a DD-214 during his first three years in the Army on active duty, but did not say if he would launch it.

The Senate primary race is statistically a three-way tie between the Trump-backed candidate Mehmet Oz, McCormick and Barnette.

Primary is Tuesday.
