Passenger killed after single-vehicle collision near Harbor Drive

OCEANSIDE, CA (April 29, 2022) – On Monday morning, a passenger was pronounced dead after a car accident on Wire Mountain Road.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident occurred around 4:15 p.m.

For unknown reasons, the driver of a gray Jeep Cherokee SUV left the freeway heading south. The Jeep then left the southbound lane when it hit the center divider and crossed into the northbound lanes.

There, the Jeep hit a tree near Harbor Drive and came to a stop. Due to the strong impact, a passenger suffered fatal injuries.

Additionally, paramedics also took the driver and another passenger to a Mission Hospital for further treatment for unspecified injuries.
